Mary Kathryn McIntosh founded
Lynchburg Historic Tours with the goal of making others aware of the
rich social, cultural, and architectural history of her Virginia
hometown.
After receiving a degree in art
history from the College of William and Mary, Mary Kathryn lived with
her husband at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New
York, for over 20 years. During which time, she served as
executive director of the Constitution Island Association. Constitution
Island was the home authors Susan and Anna Warner, whose novels and
poems commanded the popular literary marketplace throughout the second
half of the nineteenth-century. While in New York, she also
earned her professional certification at the New York School of Interior
Design.
A frequent speaker at
historical and educational institutions, Mary Kathryn lectures on a
variety of subjects, including the Houses
of Lynchburg, Restoring
Old Houses, Everything
Christmas, and the Warner
Sisters. |
